It’s a milestone anniversary this year for the annual North Norfolk Railway Beer Festival. The 10th event runs from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th July and there will be more beers than ever before. Organiser, Nessa Pritchard has lined up more than 100 different beers, plus a range of apple and pear ciders. The Festival has become a major Norfolk event, last year the busy bar dispensed well over 11,000 pints.
Friday 12.00 – 3.00pm – the Classic Dixieland Jazz Trio
Friday 7.30pm onwards – the King Size Papas
Saturday 2.00pm and evening – the Ugly Dog Skiffle Combo
Sunday 12.30pm onwards – the King Size Papas
The Festival takes place on platform 2 at Sheringham Station and is open from 11.00am to 11.00pm on the Friday and Saturday, and till 4.30pm on Sunday – although, of course, it will shut earlier if the beer runs out! Drinkers living along the Bittern Line should note that the last train from Sheringham to Norwich on the Friday and Saturday is at 11.47pm.
On all three days, the Poppy Line will be running a 45-minute service of steam and heritage diesel trains with fares held at 2009 levels and under 5s travelling free.
