A page on the Mangapps Railway Museum near Burnham on Crouch, Essex has been added to the British Heritage Railways website.
The museum has been open for 21 years and only 5 years before that there was nothing but farmland there. As can be seen from this arial view from the Mangapps website, there has been tremendous progress.
The museum is open at weekends and bank holidays and has 3/4 mile of track through the countryside for steam train rides about once a month and vintage diesel at other times.
The museum buildings house a comprehensive collection of intersting railway memorobilia, mostly from East Anglia. It’s well worth a visit.
