It is now 25 Years since the Bodmin & Wenford Railway made it’s first official train movements. On 1st June 1986 ex-Devonport Dockyard Bagnall 0-4-0ST No 19, hired from the Cornish Steam Locomotive Preservation Society at Bugle, shunted wagons at Bodmin General, watched and admired by a group of excited onlookers.
The determination of the Bodmin Railway Preservation Society’s members has ensured that the line, which was closed by British Rail in November 1983, has grown to become a popular and successful heritage railway.
